We look at the microscopic structure of wool and how that differs from one breed of sheep to another, which in turn influences how different wool behaves.
We talk about selecting sheep for their fleeces and keeping them in good condition - includes a visit to meet ouessant sheep.
The shearing process and triage of the fleece.
Washing and drying the fleece without felting - a practical lesson.
Carding using hand and drum carders ready for spinning - a practical lesson.
Cost of course: 40€ per person, minimum 2 people.
